loved it! very nice, comfortable, safe environment 9/23/2010

I loved living at the Del Rey Club Apartments. I stayed in one of the corporate apartment units which included furniture, linens, kitchen ware (pots, pans, flatware, dishes, etc.), internet, electricity, and decor. The apartments were clean, very nice (granite countertops and high ceilings!), comfortable and felt very safe with your own apartment alarm system. When I was first there, the internet was slow but they changed companies and it was much faster. This is more a place for professionals who want a quiet living while management is conscious of trying to make a nice peaceful environment for everybody. I found Nancy exceptionally lovely and caring. She more than once went beyond what she needed to do for being helpful to me. I highly recommend this place to live. more

Del Rey club Apartments warning 8/18/2009

This is a relatively new complex, which has a lot going for it in terms of occupants and construction. However, this complex also suffers from an over zealous apartment manager, and poor layout. The complex has many ""amenities"", which unfortunately I hardly make use of. The pool, gym, and common areas are meticulous cleaned by the cleaning staff everyday. However, both the gym and pool is located within the 8020 building if you live in either 8040 or 8000 you must leave your building in walk down the sidewalk and enter the 8020 building which is annoying. The apartments themselves poor layout has already been documented by other reviewers and I can vouch for their authenticity. One thing that was not noted however, is the thinness of the apartment door. It is very easy to hear passing people in the hallways through the apartment door. Also, if you have an apartment with a balcony facing the inside of the apartment complex, be prepared for people talking all throughout the night. The design of the building magnifies even whispers so that the entire building can hear your conversation, and thus, people can rarely use the bbq area after-dark. During the day children play in the area so you must keep your windows closed to keep from being disturbed. This is very annoying if you are a student and trying to study. The apartment complex manager is...well, she is a unique individual. Read between the lines! She will make up her own rules and enforce them as if they were law. I witnessed two individuals run into each other on the sidewalk in front of the driveway and the apartment manager yelled at them to move. Sidewalks are public property and thus she had no right to-do so. She loves to post notices every few days complaining about tenants in public places. I would say that perhaps she would be a good manager if she changed her approach; a bit of tact goes a long way. This apartment complex will always have a vacancy and there is a reason for that. During my 1yr stay in this building, after living previously in another Del Rey Club building, I have noticed several tenants live after there lease was up or even before. The one thing I love about this complex is the service. The cleaning staff and maintenance people are excellent and very friendly. The manager is a different story. I would not rent here again. For the money there are much better places in Playa Del Rey. Take note that just two blocks East of the Del Rey club location is another complex offering 1k for a 1bed whilst Del Rey Club currently offers $1585. Pros: Location Cons: Manager more

Great apartment complex 11/14/2008

My husband and I rented an apartment at Del Rey Club while our house was being renovated. We had an excellent experience. Our furnished apartment was clean and nicely appointed. The complex itself was very clean (I felt like someone was cleaning the common areas every time I stepped out of my door) and was kept up well. While we stayed there, we had a lightbulb in the ceiling light go out -- the manager (who, by the way, is extraordinary) sent someone to change the bulb that same day. Best of all, when our renovations took longer than planned, we were able to stay an extra week without any hassle. As far as location, it is convenient to PDR, the freeway and MDR. I highly recommend this apartment complex. Pros: Great manager, great staff, good location Cons: Tandem parking more
