If you are looking for great food at a great price then this is your place. There is never much of a wait, the food is awesome, and the service is excellent. One of the best places to take a date for the price anywhere in Nashville. There is plenty of food, and not too spicy Pros: good serice, very inexpensive, the fruit tea Cons: crowded parking lot more

Healthy eating at its best 7/23/2002

Calypso serves fresh, healthy food in a fun environment. It's also great to pick up and take home. I recommend the black bean salad. more

the best healthy place 6/28/2002

I love to eat at the Calypso on Thompson Ln. The food is so different than the ordinary Logans Roadhouse type food that everyone is selling now. I drive all the way from Murfreesboro to eat there at least a couple of times a month. I love to get the chicken pita, and cuban bean dip. I could eat their honey-lime sauce by the gallon. oh and their walls are painted with the most enchanted jungles. I will say that if you are in the mood to get pampered by your waitress, this is not the plact to go. Pros: Honey lime sauce, different, price Cons: service more

Nashville's idea of Caribbean fare 5/19/2002

Lived at this place for the 4 years I was at Vanderbilt (probably more for the proximity to campus than the tastiness of the food). That's not to say it isn't good--it's just not very authentic. But it's definitely a bargain. more
