Best

My wife and I eat here on our anniversary.Always great food.Should not limit them to the yearly visit. The drive from Chapel Hill is worth it. Pros: food, price, atmosphere

Worst

The food was alright but not worth the prices. Too much flavor, overwhelming... I wanted to pour water all over my food to douse it.

No, not again...ever.... 11/20/2005

My husband and I went to Copelands. We were seated fairly promptly, which was nice. At the table we put in our drink order. They took forever to arrive. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived. When our food arrived, cold, we noted we did not get out appetizer and we received a hasty apology and that it would not be on our bill (gee, thanks!). We finished and when we got our check, guess what was still on there? The appetizer! We will never go back again. The service was terrible the food might have been good, if it weren't so cold. But we will not go back. I have not recommended it to anyone. I have warned others to stay away, only to hear of their experience as well. How are they still in business? Pros: Quick Seating Cons: Bad Service, Cold Food more

I KNOW FINE DINING, AND THIS IS NOT IT!! 11/6/2004

Visiting Raleigh from NYC 11/6/04, dined at Copeleand's, I must say that I was very DISSATISFIED. Here in the land where this is no shortage of livestock, I expected to be presented with a fine piece of red meat in the form of Filet Mignon. However, the Filet was extemely tiny and not worth the $26. They called it "Filet" in the menu, not "Filet Mignon," (let the buyer beware!). I dont think its actually the filet mignon portion. My friend had a shrimp dish, it was like baby shrimp...please! Just terrible, and the service wasn't much better. Our waitress was disinterested in our satisfaction, and void of southern hospitality. Oh, did I mention expensive? Forgetaboutit! really...forget about it, this joint is over priced! TO ANYONE VISITING NC FROM ANOTHER MAJOR CITY, DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FRIENDS OR RELATIVES IF THEY SAY DINE HERE! OKAY.... Pros: ZERO, NONE, NADA, NOT A DAMN 1 Cons: , Price of food, Customer Service more

Average and not very consistent 1/5/2004

I have dined at Copeland's twice, and my first experience for absolutely wonderful! I truly enjoyed the dining experience. Yet, the second time I went I ordered the very same thing and was not very impressed. The food was cold and lacked the WOW! of the first experience. I think the price is right in line for the servings, you get alot of food for the price which I think was a plus. The resturant is beautifully decorated and the music playing in the background is equally satisfying. All in all I would go back......if only for the corn fritters! Pros: large servings, less crowded, variety Cons: inconsistency, parking, location more

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT 2/12/2003

Copeland's lives up to it's reputation & then some. The negative reviews from previous posters must be picky Caryites with no real respect for quality -- same people that think Lonestar off Kildaire is the Best ever, LOL -- you people are sad, Copeland's is hands down best restaurant in the area, period. Nice atmosphere, phenomenal food, reasonable prices & a little pricey (but you should see the seafood platter for 19.99 -- well worth it), and adequate service.. We arrived on a friday night and only waited 20 minutes for a table -- not too shabby for a restaurant in Cary ; it was quite busy, but Copeland's seemed to handle it like pros.. I was very impressed and would say that this is some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I'll be a regular, definitely.. Pros: good parking, excellent food, Good service Cons: annoying Caryites, Dumb Blondes @ front more

Ummm, good! 1/20/2003

I had a great experience here. I had an eggplant/shrimp/crab dish that was excellent. It was full of flavor and VERY fresh. Yes, the food was a little pricey, but then, I don't go out to eat every day, either. I guess people that are used to the Tripp's/Applebee's/Friday's/O'Charley's clones may find this place a little too flavorful for their bland palates. Our service was perfect, not too much, not too little and we had a huge doggy bag to take home, too. Pros: Great food, Great service, Great portions more

Justin Wilson...."look out" 1/5/2003

Couldn't find cajun food in New Orleans any better. I was so impressed by the flavors, the presentation and the service. It was ultimately orgasmic. Everyone should try it. more

going downhill without brakes 12/29/2002

Started going here on Valentines day last year, and then have gone back at least 1 time every month since. Loved the food, and the service was great. But, things started to go downhill in November, food was bad, undercooked, cold. Service has really dropped off as well. Tried a couple more times thinking maybe it was a bad night. Since it has been worse. Had been a favorite for us to go to, now not sure I'll go back. Cons: service, undercooked food, cold food more

MMMM.... good. 11/10/2002

It was great. I was hesitant to try it at first, as I'm not much of one for spicey food, but there was a huge selection of entrees and everyone I went with thought theirs was terriffic. My only regret is that I had a cold when I went so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I should have... Pros: Large Portions, Very Classy, Good Food Cons: Expensive more

Customer Service? Not here 11/4/2002

Food was cold and undercooked. I asked them to heat it up and I was met with rudeness. Asked to speak to the manager and I was infomed he was too busy to talk to me. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN! I would suggest the same for others. Pros: None Cons: poor customer service more

the best restaurant in the triangle 9/8/2002

I have been to Copelands twice and it is absolutely fantastic! The food is superb, the service is excellant and I love the atmosphere. DEFINATELY TRY IT!!! more

SPLENDID 8/8/2002

COPELANDS HAS A WARM AND INVITING ATMOSPHERE, THE FOOD PORTIONS ARE MORE THAN THE AVERAGE RESTAURANT SERVES. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND EXTREMLEY KNOWLEDGABLE OF THE MENU. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT ALL THAT LOVE SEAFOOD VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. more

Time is critical 8/5/2002

The time of day and day of the week is critical to having a great time. I picked the best... Thursday between 6-7. Perrrrfect. Food- fast and good. Service-fast and efficient. I've eaten in about 10 restaurants in NewOrleans including relatives' homes. Copeland's here is comparable to the ones in N.O. in that the dishes use the right spices and creative combination. Pros: fast service, good food, large portions Cons: expensive, crowded more

Great Cajun Eats 7/15/2002

Great food and a huge variety. Slightly pricey for dinner. Large portions. more

Can't cope with Copeland's 6/8/2002

When we walked in there was no host to greet us, which was baffling because it wasn't crowded enough for him/her to be busy with other customers. My mimosa was made with extremely concentrated orange juice and was hot. The coffee was watered down. My entree was too spicy; deprived of true flavor. The hollandaise sauce on the Egg's Benedict had a strange odor, not like any that I had ever smelled or tasted. When we sent it back, no manager came out to offer his/her apology. The food was too pricy for its poor quality. Pros: Good Parking, Not crowded Cons: Interior too dark, Poor service more
