Free tour, free beer! 12/29/2005

I was visiting Denver recently and I visited the Coors Factory. We were taken by shuttle to the factory and were greeted by the smell of hops in the air. Inside there were some nice, interactive displays about Coors, their history and products. We went on tour and we saw and learned about how they make the beer, package the beer and even got a small sample of Coors. At the end everyone(over 21, of course) got three free 8 oz glasses of Coors, Molsen, Zima, frozen Zima or Blue Moon. The Blue Moon beer was great. This was a very fun way to spend part of our day and it was even better that it didn't cost anything. There is a nice gift shop at the end(after the free drinks, haha). Next time I am in Colorado this will be a the top of my list! more

Great, free entertainment. 11/19/2005

We visited the Coors brewery while visiting some friends in Denver. I'd highly reccomend it. You really get to see how the beer is brewed and packaged and get an idea of the volume of product that they're producing. It's really amazing. The end, obviously, is the best part, when you get to sample all the products. It's fun to shop around the gift shop and sample the beers. Fun times. more

Coors Brewery Tour - A must do for locals and vistors 10/31/2005

I recently had an out of town guest and was looking for some inexpensive entertainment around Denver. Then I remembered the Coors Brewery Tour which I had taken in the past and thought that might be fun. It worked out perfectly, Golden is only a short drive out of Denver, about 15-20 minutes. When you get to Golden you can already smell the hops in the air from the brewing. Just follow the signs (sometimes small) to the Brewery. There is plenty of parking, and right away you get on a nice little shuttle bus. This gives a brief tour of the Golden downtown area and some background on Adolph Coors. After arriving at the brewery we waited about 10 minutes for our tour to begin. I was surprised how many people were there on a weekday as well, probably about 20 in our group. The whole tour lasts about 30 minutes or so and lets you walk right through the entire place. The guided walkthrough is an overview of the entire beer making process, with a stop towards the beginning to have a small (dixie cup) sample of the freshest beer. Very good. Then at the end those who are over 21 get three free glasses of the Coors beverage selection including Molson, Zima, Blue Moon, and of course Coors. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon and after the tour we had lunch in town which was also very good. So if you are looking for some great free entertainment, head out to Golden for the Coors tour! more
