I am not sure we saw the best of this hotel. The location was really great - in central Sausalito across the street from the harbor. ... more

Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa is nice! 8/11/2009

Great location. Nice hotel and amenities. I especially love the bathroom - large soaking tub with a separate shower area - very nice and chic. The bed is comfortable and the bay view from our room was simply amazing. more

Not what it seems online 5/12/2009

I reserved a room for a romantic get away with my husband. I was very impressed by the beautiful pictures on-line of the accommodations. When we checked in the room was a closet and nothing like the pictures. The furniture was old, the bed was hard as a rock. We ended up leaving 5 minutes after we arrived. Not worth the money! more

Nice enough hotel but when compared with other hotels on this and other trips I can only rate it as average, for three significant reasons: Location, room service and given the first two, price. more

STAY AWAY FROM VICTORIAN ROOMS 8/27/2008

We got a room reserved on the internet after looking at the pictures that they have online. When we got there they put us in an area of the hotel that looked like it hadn't been used or cleaned in years. We opened our door to the (room 305 I think it was). I had to put my shoulder into it to get it open cause it was stuck. When they say Victorian room they meant a room that had old Victorian furniture in it they they had decided to neglect. After complaining they put us in a newer part of the hotel which is much nicer but costs a lot more.\r \r These rooms would be good if you are an older person looking to re-live memories of what Sausalito used to be like. Pros: Right on the water if you can get a room with a balcony its amazing Cons: old old non-updated rooms more

Location, ambience, and service!!! 1/20/2003

Wow. I recently spent a weekend in Sausalito with my girlfriend, and Casa Madrona was one of the high points of our trip. The big, imposing building may look a little out of place on Sausalito's charming Bridgeway, ubt it hides a relaxing atmosphere, a high-quality restaurant, wonderful rooms, and above all, a very personable and helpful staff. For a smile and a tired sigh, we were upgraded from a normal room to a suite with a spa/bathtub and fireplace. abravo! Pros: service, location, restaurant Cons: no real lounge more

I wish I could move in... 7/27/2002

This was the best experience I have ever had at a spa! The employees were so great, the services were awesome, and the spa itself was perfect! I would have stayed forever if I could have! I can't wait to go back! Pros: Beautiful!, Relaxing!, Delightful! more
