Cantlupes Italian Restaurant

OK; let me tell you about this amazing place to eat. it is Cantlupes in Gastonia. the food is the best Italian that i have ever eaten. The service that my family of 12 received was the best in a very long time. we were quite demanding in our requests, however our request were handled in an extremely prompt and professional manner. Keep up the great service and great food. more

The service was horrible. My waiter was some long haired druggie hippie. I guess they gave him a job out of pity. I asked for crackers and he gave me two packs. That's an insult. If I ask for crackers don't be stingy. Then that druggie hippie added the tip to my bill. Who does he think he is? That food gave me the worst heartburn I've had in a while. It had too much salt in it. I'll never go back to that place. more

My wife and I have two children ages six and 11. We don?t get to dine out often so we rely on the ability to carry out or take food home. We?ve been doing this since our six year old was an infant and we?ve got in the habit of having dinner together after the children are in bed. So? Saturday evening, July 17th, after hearing positive feedback from associates and friends, we decided to give Cantlupes a go. I first checked on line to see if they had an online menu. They do not. Since we don?t live that far away, I drove over. I was in my red shorts and Appalachian State T (Class of 90 BTW) and I walked inside. I knew immediately that I was out of place. After being ignored for approximately five minutes, I managed to get the attention of someone who appeared to be a hostess or a server there. She was very young, blonde and attractive and gave me a look like I was some hideous homeless person. I asked her where I needed to go to order food for take home. With a very haughty and arrogant look, as if I were someone beneath her, she said to me in a very cold manner, ?WE DON?T DO TAKE OUT?.sorry.? I was embarrassed. Cons: Arrogant, ugly personnel. more
