I have been taking my pets here for several years. The staff is always great. When we had to put our 22 year old cat to sleep everyone was very kind and understanding. We appreciated the care they took and know he went peacefully. more

brookvet11 - 04/13/10 (see below)\r It is very sad that during this stressful situation, the owner misinterpreted the facts. Unfortunately in this day and age hospitals have to set procedures and be consistent. There have been times in the past when chances were taken to allow someone to "make payments" and 99 times out of a 100 people didn't stick to their word, especially if the animal was deceased. We offer care credit which is 90 days same as cash as well as we take most major credit cards. Owning pets are a responsibility, not a right and the responsibility of taking care of that animal falls on the owner, not the veterinarian. If the cat was suffering, it should have been seen sooner. We offer IV cathater placement (thus the extra $30) when the owner wants to be present, so they can snuggle and hold their animal close while still allowing us to acess the vein easily. On debilitated animals it can be very difficult to even hit a vein, so when we know how emotional this is for the more

Money is more important 3/23/2010

I have 6 pet and been going to this clinic since I moved here. My cat got sick (organ failure) and was in so much pain he was sleeping in his litter box so he didn't have to move. I called to ask "How much to euthinize him." I then asked if I "Could pay half now and half next week". I was told payments are due at time of service. I said "But he is suffering", "Sorry but all payments are due at time of service". So I guess the all mighty dollar is worth more then the pain and suffering of an animal. Oh, and if you want to be with your pet while he is being euthanized it's an extra $30, if you let them take him in back it's free, what are they doing in back that they need to hide? more

  • Welcome To Our Family

Brookside Veterinary hospital was founded by Dr. Lisa Woods-Zabari in 1994 and in our current building since 2000. She raised her son as a single parent, practiced veterinary medicine, and ran the business of the hospital since its inception. She is dedicated to caring for the well-being of pets in Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula, and surrounding areas for nearly three decades. Recently, Dr. Lisa was ready to step back from ownership but wanted to ensure what she had built stayed locally owned to continue to serve the community as she had been. She was introduced to Dr. Zingsheim-Nadeau (Dr. Z) and her husband Michael who were eager to help keep the hospital locally owned and operated.
