Very Helpful and Knowledgeable Employee 6/3/2016

I'm new to the community. I called the Books-A-Million (Judy's Book) on Ross Clark Circle in Dothan. The young man who answered was so considerate and very knowledgeable about their books, when books would be coming in, and, more importantly, the book for which I was searching. It was so nice to speak with someone so helpful over the phone. more

Could be a lot Better 11/28/2006

Books-A-Million is not one of my favorite places to shop, nor is it my husband's. They have quite a few sections of books, but not many titles in some sections. This is n't because there are a lack of books that will go in these sections, they just do not carry them. Also, the store is rather small for the amount of inventory that they have placed in the store, and the coffee shop is the size of a walk-in closet. It seems as though they do not have enough help, either. Everytime that my husband or I have a question, we have to get in the long lines of people that are trying to check out, and wait, just to get an answer. When we go to check out, we have to wait in long lines again. I think that this store could be greatly improved by moving to another, larger location and increasing the size and efficiency of their staff. more

Concerned Mother!!!! 9/8/2006

I have always enjoyed shopping at Books-A-Million and the kids section is great, but a couple of weeks ago I was astonished to find, at my childs eye level, books with nudity on the cover. I understand that there MAY be a need for these type of books, but surely there is a discreet way that they can be displayed. I have e-mailed the company and hope that they will make an effort to change this, if not, I can't say that I would recommend this as a place for families. more

Another chain book store. The coffee is good but very expensive. The bookstore has a great selection but horrible customer service. The lines are long at the cash registers and at the coffee shop. It is not a good place to go to relax or study. Always loud and crowded. more
