looking for a better buy? 11/15/2011

Yo, so checked the in-store stock status of an anime DVD (the one featured in my profile pic). bestbuy's website said that the Portage location had it in-stock so I called the store and the guy who I talked to was really cool and nice and he said 'yeah, I can hold your Strawberry dvd until the close of tomorrow'. And the next day I went to the store to buy it and it rang up at about $47 and besbuy's online store had it for $22.50 but it was on backorder, so I told the lady this, and she rang it up at 22.50! Good bargaining on my part, but the BBY staff was friendly and willing to help which is a plus. more

Best Buy is my choice anyday! 8/11/2009

The employees at this store are great! They answered all of my questions and went above and beyond to get my situation taken care of. Sometimes it takes awhile to get help but that's what happens when you have 10 people looking for computers and 5 employees working that time! They tough it out well! more

Best Buy is not customer friendly 7/16/2009

I had terrible experience with a best buy store manager and a person from the geek quad in Portage, MI. I bought a desktop computer in February and less than five month later, the hard drive went bad. The told me it would take a week to figure out what was wrong and almost a month to fix it. The manager even said, "We don't make it. Dell makes it and we just sell it." Then he said, "There's no guarantee (the the computer will work), that why you buy the warranty." I am afraid to go back to the store or buy anything else, but after spending over $600, I need a working computer. more

I'd shop there if I had absolutely no choice 7/4/2009

Best Buy is the survivor of the Best Buy/Circuit City battle for the electronic and gaming dollar in Kalamazoo. Circuit City lost. Like a lot of big box stores, there is a decent amount of selection. But, when I was looking for a mp3 player for a niece, I saw Best Buy did not carry iRiver brand. Similarly, I was looking for a brand of sound card, and naturally, Best Buy did not carry it. You can get more choices and better prices on line, but many people are reluctant to shop on line, so they go to Best Buy. What I find particularly irritating is how vacuous and vapid the staff is. I find the blue shirted boys and girls that staff this Best Buy more interested in socializing and partying with each other after work. You can do better on line (e.g., newegg.com, tigerdirect.com). more

Good customer Service 11/13/2005

In my opinion, the best thing Best Buy has besides a huge selection of Computers, movies, video games, and other things is their customer service. They can help you with anything you need, and if you have a warranty for a product you can keep getting it replaced if anything happens to it. Very good place to shop. more
