Let me first say that when Ben and Jerry's first came to Provo, I was jumping up and down with delight. I am so in love with most of their flavors. The New York Super chunk chocolate fudge and the Phish Food especially, although I would happily eat a cone of just about anything from their freezer.
However, the store has absolutely no atmosphere, and you get the feeling that the employees would rather get you out of there as quickly as possible so they can go back to whatever it is they do in an empty ice cream store than encourage you to sit down and enjoy your treat. Everything inside the store is standard issue, so it feels a lot more like going to an airport or mall restaurant than your friendly, local neighborhood ice cream joint. When we have on occasion sat down to eat our ice cream in the store (driving with an ice cream come gets tricky/trickly), the tables have often not been cleaned from the last customer, so you find yourself dodging someone else's ice cream spills from who knows when. Yuck! How hard is it to bring a wet rag out to the tables every time a customer leaves?
Having said that, I will definitely be going there April 25th when they have their nation-wide free ice cream cone day. Gotta have that New York Fudge!
