If I could give this company 0 stars I would. This company has no idea the value of customer service. Read the reviews and look at their grade on the BBB website a D! They billed me for trash service for 3 months after I canceled it saying that my husband telling them to cancel the trash service wasn't sufficient. Even though I have one of their trash cans that has trash from trash service 3 months ago. Which they are billing me 100.00 for. DO NOT DO IT YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! more

I have read the rest of the reviews and we have never had a problem with this company. Our driver is wonderful. One morning we missed putting the trash out my son ran after the trash man...he came to collect our trash. There have been times he walked the cans up to me as I was coming out for them. Whenever I have to call customer service I am treated wonderfully. more

Not so good 6/23/2010

Contine to break branched off a tree in front of my home. They don't have to hug the curb all the way down the street between stops!At Xmas they have sheddedd strands of lights on the tree. and for the past 6 mo. the have broken several branches. Today I was out there and it still happened. The driver said to me.." I'm slowly killing your tree". I said yes you are and I would like it to stop> There is no reason for you to bust all the branches each week. He said he'll be more careful. We'll watch and see.Also my bill has continued to rise since the begining of 2007 EVERY billing period. It is now 6/2010 there excuse is fuel cost so it fluxuates all the time...REALLY. :( Pros: On time, take ALL my recylce and trash Cons: Inrease bill EVERY statement. Break branches off my tree more

Allied Waste Services in Arvada Colorado 9/26/2009

This company will subjectively decide to bill you extra for having too many bags of trash set out, maybe the driver got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. If you don't pay the extra, equivalent to about a month's service for an extra 10 seconds of work, they will fine you $35 and interrupt your service. Do they really think people don't have a choice of who to use for trash service? I suggest you avoid this company like the plague. Cons: Horrible customer service, fine their own customers! more

DO NOT USE ALLIED WASTE SERVICES!!! 10/15/2008

Allied Waste has been one of the worst companies I have dealt with. When I first signed up the garbage service started right away. But it took them almost 6 weeks to get my recycling service started. And the only reason it finally did start was because I called every week to find out when they were sending me my recycling container. They could never tell me when the recycling bin was going to be delivered. Then one day a little bin was delivered, big enough to place in 4-5 milk containers. For 2 weeks in between pick up they deliver a small bin, so much for encouraging recycling. When I received my next statement, which was my first full quater statement. It was $130. I was shocked! $30 in fuel recovery cost, $15 to deliver a garbage can they told me was required, $15 to deliver a recycling bin that held nothing. Then the cost of trash service and the additional fee for recycling services, which was never explained to me. Who pays $100 every 3 months for garbage p/u? I contacted them and spoke to Sheranda. She was so RUDE! She refused to help me. She insisted the person who set up my service would have told me about all the fees. Well news flash...they didnt. So I called back to cancel my service. And spoke to Maria, she was very pleasant and apologized but still I cancelled. She told me since I cancelled my service before the new quater I had a zero balance due. ZERO BALANCE OWED! And they would be picking up my garbage can. Well they never picked up my garbage can. And have not sent me another statement, notice, or called me since I spoke to Maria in August 2008. It is now mid October and someone from the collections department is calling stating I owe a $48 balance. WHAT?!?! For what? He didn't even know. He is supposed to be calling me tomorrow. We'll see how that turns out. But avoid using Allied Waste Services at all costs!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible. I am going with another company now and am quite happy with my new companies services! Pros: they are a big company, if that is a pro to you Cons: horrible service, outrageous costs, requires you to rent a container, no good recycling more

They put a Black Mark on Going Green 7/8/2008

Our family is trying to do the right thing by recycling. This company makes it nearly impossible. They miss pick-up about every other time, which is every two weeks anyway, so by the time they come, a month recycling has been sitting around. There have been times where we waited six weeks. When I call, "the system is down," "the name on the account does not match your address," - a slew of terrible customer service experiences. When they can figure out the account, they refund $1.50 for missed pick-ups. I don't want a $1.50 credit on my bill, I want my recycling picked-up! If you can avoid them, do, they really deserve zero stars. Denver residents are so lucky with their gov't supplied service. Pros: Trash removal is reliable Cons: Recycling services are terrible and they can keep their $1.50 refund more

Customer Service doesn't know who they are?! 7/6/2008

I used the contact customer service email link on Allied Waste's website to ask a question and I received the following email back from them in regards to my question .. Trashy service from a trash removal company 5/10/2008

Unable to reach anyone on the phone after multiple calls during business hours. No response to multiple voice mails. Watched the collectors in the morning two weeks in a row after noticing that our trash containers were sitting in the middle of the street. The collectors literally empty the containers and then throw them mindlessly down "near" the curb instead of nicely placing them at least standing back up on the sidewalk. Also had a stretch of two weeks where the trash was not picked up at all. When we attempted to check the delivery schedule on the website, we found that there is NO delivery schedule posted online at all! You can do better than Allied Waste and your money will be spent wisely elsewhere. more

I have been reasonably satisified with their residential service. Additionally, they have taken large amounts of trash on numerous occasions. Recently, I ordered a 20 yard dumpster from their commercial division. There service agreement said that they would charge an additional charge of $150 if the unit was not emptied or returned within 13 days. During this period my mother-in-law died back in Iowa, and I was unable to spend enough time to fill the dumpster before I returned. On the 13th day, they refused to grant me a time extension, even after I spoke to 3 different people. Not wanting to be charged the $150, I had it picked up only 2/3 full. These people should all be named Richard Cranium! more

Don't count on your services being picked up! 12/19/2007

I have had nothing but problems with this company! They continually forget to pick up the recycling; for instance we've had their service since September and they've only picked it up one time, even are I've called and complained. I have called and complained, and they offered me a credit for the services I did not receive for over two months. The credit was $1.00. Obviously they do not value me as a customer and will not value you! Also, they never sent me a bill for the services that I have. I didn't think anything of it as I had to pay $60 when I first ordered the services. Well, I just received a bill for over $100 as well as a notice that my services are going to be shut off if I do not pay in 10 days. I spoke to a representative a month ago as well as ago two weeks letting them know that my recycling had not been picked up and neither rep let me know that I such a delinquent bill. I could go on forever about how horrible this company is, but needless to say don't waste your money or time...they do not care about your business! Pros: You don't have to pay for the trash bin Cons: the entire company! more

Inept, Horrible Company 10/4/2007

Been here for 9 years using this miserable service and they continue to "forget" or oversee the fact that recycle bins are out. I have to chase down the trucks. They never empty the bins and pass them up 90% of the time. When calling to ask why this keeps happening, they don't evne have our address or name on file. We are in a HOA that employs them and I will try to change that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. more

A terribly unreliable company 8/22/2007

This review may sound a bit like a carbon copy of the last review, but here goes... Although I had a missed trash pick up here and there throughoutthe 19 months that I was a customer of Allied Waste, they were generally apologetic and picked the trash up the next day. However, my trash has not been picked up for 4 weeks now, despite constantly being assured that it will be picked up "today". Although the majority of the customer service representatives that I have spoken with have been at least marginally polite, several have been incredibly rude. I have been promised confirmation calls that never I never receive, and have now been promised a refund for the entire month of August, as I just cancelled my account. (I'm not holding my breath.) I wonder how long it will take them to come and pick up the malodorous garbage sitting inside of their containers. I'm calling Pro Disposal based on City Search ratings and a recommendation from a friend. more

No Service at Allied Waste 8/14/2007

Allied Waste missed three pick-ups in a row. After the second missed pick-up I called and they did pick-up the trash the following day. But, the next week they missed my pick-up again. When I called customer service to complain, he said they could not pick up my trash because the driver could not get onto my street. I told customer service, there is construction in my neighborhood, but there is no construction on my block and only one lane is closed off. Me and all my neighbors get in and out of our street everyday. All my neighbors trash is picked up EXCEPT for mine and one neighbor whose service (or lack of) is/was Allied Waste. After putting me on hold for over 10 minutes, while he talked the problem over with a manager, their solution was that I roll my trash to the end of the block. Yeah that's right, they actually suggested I roll my trash to the end of the block. What a ridiculous idea. Needless to say, I canceled my service. more

Awful Service 6/8/2007

We have had problems with them from the beginning. In January we went a whole month without a service and never once received a credit. Now, we have had our trash sitting outside since Tuesday night, waiting for a Wednesday pickup and here it is Saturday. I have tried calling to get this straightened out but only get a recording talking about their hours and how their services are on time. I would not recommend this company to anyone living in Aurora! more

POOR SERVICE 1/9/2007

I have now been trying to call Allied waste for over 48 hours. I get a busy signal, and then when you do get through after hours, the voice mail is full. It states they are running on a regular service. Then why is my trash still sitting on the curb, as well as many of my neighbors. It has been sitting now for two weeks. This is the second time in less than 35 days. The first time I called three or four times, spoke with two different customer service reps. The first stated that this was the first she had heard of no pick up in my area and she would turn it in and get a truck out there. That was on Wed (Trash day is Tues) on Thursday I called again. This time another rep stated that I was about the 4th caller that day and she would get a supervisor involved and offered a credit for the missed week. The trash was picked up on Friday. The service for the company is horrific, and now that I see they bought out BFI, I do not understand. The message that I left last night was not pleasant and I feel bad for the person who gets it. I just kept dialing extensions until I actually got a voice mail to leave a message. Need a trash service in the Aurora/Centennial area I would say stear clear of Allied Waste. Cons: They do not deliver the service that they are hired for. more

very poor customer service 1/4/2007

In the past two months, i have had nothing but troouble with this company. When I call, I am on hold for at least 30 minutes each time. The representatives are friendly enough, but when they promise to fix the issue, nothing happens. This includes billing issues and missed pick up dates. As I am typing this, I have been on hold, trying to find out why my neighbors trash was picked up yesterday but mine was not. Last week I waited on hold after getting a discontinue notice and was told that a late fee had been added to my account in error the month previous and that that late fee was now past due. I was told it would be taken off and the account was current. Now this! As soon as I get this straightened out, I am going to change services! more

Avoid Hiring Allied Waste as your Trash Service 1/2/2007

We live in an area that has trash picked up on Tuesday. On 12-19-06, our area had their trash picked up but somehow our street did not. Now it is January 3, 2006, and the next pick-up won't be until January 9th. So the bottom line is very poor service. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. more

Reliability Has Slipped 8/24/2006

Allied bought BFI and since then, reliability in pick up has slipped. For the 3rd time in a couple months, our trash has been missed and daily promises from customer service to send someone have gone unanswered. Customer service can't explain why this is happening - which doesn't give us much hope for improvement. While the customer service representatives are friendly and apologetic - if they can't satisfy our complaint with an actual trash pickup, it isn't very helpful. Pros: customer service friendly and apologetic, offered credit. Cons: unreliable pickup. times varied every week and missed pickup increasing more
