An unpleasant experience 5/15/2012

I had family visiting from Brazil who had never seen a strawberry field, so I took them and my father to Adams Farms. We went with the intention of picking a lot of fruit and taking a few pictures for my cousins to bring home. Unfortunately, there was an older man who could have been the skinny version of Santa Claus working there. Because my cousins speak mostly in Portuguese, he felt it necessary to tell them several times NOT to eat the fruit. They speak English, and had been speaking to me in front of this man IN ENGLISH. They also never touched the fruit. They wanted to take pictures and that was all. We were also not allowed to pick fruit together. This old man with his white hair and beard sent us off in different directions. If I wanted to pick fruit alone, I would have come alone. I brought family so we could have a family experience. When we went to pick strawberries, he told my dad to get out of the field if he wasn't going to pick fruit and he told my cousins to leave entirely because they couldn't be trusted not to eat the fruit if he wasn't watching them. We paid for what we picked and I let a woman inside know that there was a problem with the man outside, that he ruined what could have been a great experience. I informed her that there are unpleasant reviews online regarding that specific man and that we will not be coming back because of him. It's a shame, because the fruit we picked was tasty, but I'd rather pay more in a store for better treatment. more

Extremely rude staff 4/25/2011

Went there today with my 3 grandkids, my wife, my daughter and her husband. The staff, approximately 80+ years old with long gray beard assigned us 3 rows where to pick the strawberries from. We were all excited because it's our first time to pick strawberries. He told us to check the middle of the plot because that's where the big ones are. So that's where we look. We've been picking big ones and we were all shcoked when he started yelling at us to go back. He said all of them are good and he said we missed 1,000 good strawberries already. I told him we were looking for big ones and he said we're not supposed to get just the big ones as all of them are good. I told him that he was the one who encouraged us to look for big ones in the middle of the plot. He continued to yell at us and said he's been doing that job for 12 years now and he know what he is doing. I said, ok we are leaving and he yelled saying that's good that we're leaving. Wow, first time in my life I met an old person so mean. We made sure we told the cashier our horrible story when we were paying for the strawberries. We are never going back to that place again. Strawberries are cheap and sweet though but I'll take my money to the grocery store even though they are more expensive. My money will hopefully help in paying for the salaries of the nicer staff. Nobody can beat that old man as far as rudeness is concerned. Never again! more

Very Rude and Unkind Staff!!! 4/11/2011

I took my 79 years old grandmother who was visiting me to Adams Farms for the first time to give her a fun experience. I made the mistake of not reading their long list of rules and the last one said not to eat the berries, and on my way out of the field my grandmother took a bite of a strawberry to try them and I told her that it was ok. First staff yelled at her for doing that, I apologized but the owners came to us and yelled to her ""Get out of my farm and never come back!!! (several times) One of them were pointing to the board with rules and I tried to apologize for not reading them but they kept yelling to us ""GET OUT OF HERE!!!"" My grandmother walked out crying. I paid for the ones we picked but this was my first and last visit to that farm. I have done berries and apple picking all around the country and have never been treated this way in my 13 years living in the South! more

A Treasure of Fayetteville !! 6/22/2009

We found this by accident our first year living in Fayette County and it has turned into a summer tradition! The fruit and veggies are top quality and you can't beat the prices! It is always an adventure to go and pick berries and everyone is so friendly and helpful especially the gentlemen that looks like ""Santa Claus"". I can't say enough good things about it except to add that the blackberries are my favorite!! Pros: This is always a Family Favorite. Cons: The only con is the Georgia Heat ! more
