Had a great trip with this company. It takes about 3 hours total with prep time etc and 1 hour ride over mega mansions and ocean views. The rate was reasonable and totally worth it. The best thing was how NICE the pilot was, Jaime the owner/manager, and on ground crew. They were totally fine with the fact my bf and I were larger folks... so a bit of a surcharge (which is understandable) and we were treated well as we were let in first to the basket and let the more agile skinny folk in after us. The landing was super smooth and they do prep you along the way of what to expect to get in, get out of the basket as well as how to prep for landing. \r \r I would recommend they get a fold up footstool for inside and outside the basket .. it would make getting in and out MUCH easier.. maybe those last two folks would have to amble up the sides like they do now due to room but it would totally help just make that piece easier.\r \r baskets fit about 16 people.. it was fantastic!!! more

I live out of state and found Panorama Balloon Tours on Groupon. I called about two weeks prior to my vacation to San Diego area and asked if I could use the Groupon. I wanted to give my husband a surprise birthday gift of a lifetime. I also indicated to Jaime (the company owner) that as I was going to be on vacation and was arriving from out of state; I only could use it on one specific day. Jamie was VERY accommodating and really worked with my situation. He booked us for that day, but asked me to call that day to confirm weather. I did and everything was perfect! He sent me a text to let me know where the meeting site was and what time to be there. The experience was unbelieveable! The pilot, Phil just happens to be the most experienced pilot of all the companies and has 23 years experience. He goes out of his way to be an excellent guide and has some good humor to add to the experience. I would do this again in a heartbeat! I was in San Diego with no car. Public transportation options were dicey. Jamie, the owner, offered to have one of his crew come pick me up at my hotel for a very reasonable charge. None of the other Hot Air Balloon companies offered me that option.\r \r His kind offer allowed me to have a flight that would have been impossible otherwise.\r \r The hot air balloon flight was awesome. We had a very experienced pilot named Phil. The flight was conducted very safely. The scenery was absolutely amazing. The ride was very smooth. We got an extended flight and saw a beautiful sunset too. It was also fun to see several other balloons in the air that departed from the same location as ours.\r \r My great thanks to Jamie and Panorama Balloon Tours for a memorable experience. more

I came up with the idea of taking my daughter for a hot air baloon ride for her birthday because i wanted to do something really special for her birthday. Her Birthday Theme was Aim High and Reach for the Stars!! Ofcourse, I was booking this while we would be visiting San Diego for the weekend from L.A and on a Mid Friday Afternoon,--Last Minute, uhm.....YA! Jaime was so quick to respond, called me back and gave me updates on availability, and weather, and was really a decent man. \r \r I came across Panorama through a google search, spoke to Jaime and booked by phone. I did not read through any of the yelp reviews until after I had booked. I was a little surprised to see the negative comments, because my experience with him was a little different. He was actually really nice to me over the phone and i felt confident to book with him. He was very informative, explained the entire process and promised to make it special for my daughters Birthday. (We had a Happy B-Day Banner she got to hold up in front of the basket)-That was very nice!\r \r The ground team was amazing, and were so focused on making sure everyone was comfortable and took lot's of photos for us.-The Crew and Pilot even sang Happy Birthday to my daughter and really made it special. Phil the Pilot was absolutley the nicest man ever, and extreamly personable, friendly, knowledgable and humurous. He made us feel very safe and he definatly knew what he was doing. I would reccomend Panorama to my friends, and would definatly book with them again. In fact, one of my friends from overseas saw my photos and will be booking a flight when she visits next time. more

We saw whole process how the ballon goes up and the entire process, those crews worked soooo hard, getting dirty, doing lots of physical work, yet offering us to take photos for our memory.\r The pilot, mike was great. Ride was amazing. I think the whole group had a great time and experience!\r People had so many issues with Jamie apparently, but be honest, us using groupon deal,he was very reasonable to us.so no complains!\r The bottom line, this is more for being adventurous than being romantic I think. So if you are looking for fun like we did, girls get away, then this can be it! more

I was apprehensive about booking with this company because of the reviews, but am pleased to say it was a wonderful experience, without ANY hiccups! Jaime was pleasant, our pilot Phil was great and we arrived to our destination safe and sound! I don't think the experience could have been any better! Thank you to the crew who worked so hard to ensure that we enjoyed ourselves!! One more thing crossed off the bucket list! :) more

Wow, I have to say this was a great Experience. I actually booked with Magical Adventure Balloon rides, and they changed me to this company without notifying me. So, no kudos to them, this company was great!\r \r I was sent an email and called by someone to confirm meetup time, but once I got there, I realized it was Panorama. I did not book with them because of the negative reviews, but I was very surprised and happy.\r \r We booked the sunset view in Del Mar. Phil was our pilot, and he was extremely knowledgeable. He was a very nice guy and knew the area vey well. Now, I am pretty scared of heights, much more than I thought I was, but he makes you feel very calm and confident as you're floating a mile high in the air.\r \r It was a very peaceful ride. There were 9 of us flying (other than the pilot) and still enough room to not feel smothered. The crew helping us take off and land were very friendly. We gave a toast with Champagne afterwards for new experiences and safe travels. more

Wow, am super surprised to see all the bad press these guys have here. While I grant you that the guy over the phone was a bit disinterested (Mr. Personality he aint) but, really other than that, the crew, the flight, the fabulous muchies and Champagne were all great! My girlfriend is a little scared of heights but they made her feel safe and made her laugh. I appreciated that. All in all, no real complaints and had a good time. more

If you can get over the owner Jaime being a total creeper then you'll have lots of fun. He was rude on the phone while booking and when we arrived. He did offer to take a cute picture of us which was nice. The crew and pilot were very friendly and funny. I'd recommend them just because our pilot was so informative and humorous. Overall an amazing experience! more
